It’s possible to replace the CR2032 coin cell with two AA batteries. A single CR2032 is compact, but it only has around 225mAh. With two AA batteries you can increase that to about 4200mAh, which is roughly 18.5x more capacity.

For hidden sensors like temperature sensors on top of a closet a big battery block is not a problem, the longer battery life can be much more useful than keeping everything tiny.
